Nomination Policy

Any member in good standing, who has been a club member for at least 3 seasons, may express interest in volunteering for an open At-Large Board Member position beginning in August of each year. Two positions are available each season. See the Bylaws for details regarding terms, committees, and meetings.

The Secretary will send an email invitation to the membership no later than September 5th. Members should provide a written response directly to the Secretary, including their experience with the club and why they feel their contributions will benefit the Board. Candidates must reply by October 31st. All candidate information will be forwarded to the rest of the Executive committee by November 5th.

The Executive Committee MUST meet with those candidates between November 5th and January 1st to consult them on current issues and practices, Board/Management relations, etc. This interview process is to filter those with personal agendas and to find those most suited to the needs of the club at that time. It is also to determine the candidates’ ability to commit to the meeting schedules so that quorums may be met for each meeting during the season.

The Secretary shall send notice to the general membership announcing the candidates for the positions and seek nominations of those candidates no later than January 5th. Nominations will be accepted until March 1st. The top two candidates nominated by the membership are appointed in at the March meeting per the club Bylaws.

New At-Large members will receive an orientation manual from the General Manager at the Annual Meeting. The General Manager and any Board Member may also meet with the new members after they are appointed to update them on current club issues or interest in volunteering for committees.
