RC Swim and Dive Lesson Instructors

At RC, we have exemplary instructors on staff to help meet the individual needs of our young swimmers and divers. Lessons can be arranged as private lessons (one student) or semi-private lessons (2-4 students).

Lessons are only available for RC Members.

To arrange a private or semi-private swim/dive lesson, please contact your instructor of choice directly, and they’ll work with you to schedule your lessons. 
If you have any difficulties with getting a lesson arranged and need assistance, please contact Mada Montgomery, our swim lesson coordinator, or Aquatics Director Brad Huttenga.

Hi! I just finished my first year at the University of Toronto where I study Mechanical Engineering and play water polo. I grew up at RC and was on the swim and dive teams for ten years. This is my fourth summer working at RC and my third teaching swim lessons. I love helping kids gain confidence in the water and showing them the fun they can have in it.

Maddie Heben

Hi I’m Maddie! I’m from Ann Arbor and a rising junior at Middlebury College majoring in environmental economics. This is my fifth year as a lifeguard, and second year as a swim lessons instructor. I swam competitively with Racquet Club growing up, and had tons of fun teaching swim lessons, particularly at the introductory level for Liberty Athletic Club helping kids confidence and fundamental skills in the water. I spend my summers camp counseling, hiking, and playing guitar and I’m excited to teach swim lessons this summer!

Hello! I am a rising junior at the University of Michigan where I am studying Neuroscience and Spanish. I grew up swimming at RC and continued throughout high school at Pioneer. This is my third year as one of the swim team coaches and teaching lessons. I am comfortable working with all ages and abilities, anywhere from getting comfortable in the water to perfecting stroke technique.

Hi! My names Tessa Rober, I am an rising senior at Huron High School. I have been a member of racquet club for as long as I can remember, and love being a part of swim and dive! In my free time I love to play volleyball and am in the process of getting a nursing assistant certification. I do both group and private lessons, so feel free to reach out!

Alexander Heberlein

Hi, I’m Alexander. I have 9 years of experience with competitive swimming through Club Wolverine, and I’ve been on the Racquet Club team since I was six years old. I currently swim on the Pioneer High School State Team where I swim Butterfly and the 200 IM. I also play varsity water polo at Pioneer. I love working with kids and aim to help swimmers build confidence, improve their technique, and have fun in the water.

Alex Hannah

Hey! I’m Alex Hannah, an incoming freshman at the University of St Andrews, and I’m excited to share my love of swimming with your kids! I’ve been swimming competitively since age 7 (Club Wolverine, Saline Swim Team, Huron Valley, Racquet Club, and Pioneer High School) and am lifeguard certified. This is my second summer teaching swim lessons and lifeguarding at the Racquet Club, and I’m also teaching group lessons here this summer! I’m passionate about making swimming fun and can work with all ages. I’m reliable, organized, and great with kids—can’t wait to help them feel confident in the pool! Feel free to reach out!

My name is Lizzie Kinsey and I’m from Ann Arbor. I just finished my second year at the University of Michigan as a Naval Architecture and marine engineering major. This is my fifth year as a lifeguard and swim coach. During the school year, I work in a marine hydrodynamics lab and am the alumni chair for my stem sorority, Phi Sigma Rho. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, painting, and cooking!

Brad’s been the Head Diving Coach at RC for over 25 years, and has experience with divers of all levels. His focus at RC is using diving to help kids learn a variety of skills, build confidence, and enable more bodily awareness. 

Annie Costello

Hello! My name is Annie Costello and I’m a recent graduate and former diver for the University of Michigan and am currently pursuing a career in nursing. I have had a passion for diving since age 8 and have been competing at a national level for 12 years, diving for Legacy Diving as well as Huron High School. I am currently working as a coach at Legacy and love helping divers develop their skills, build confidence, and discover everything that makes diving such a rewarding sport. I’m excited to join Racquet Club as a coach and I’m looking forward to a great season!

Kendall Greca

Hi! My name is Kendall Greca, and I am a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University studying to be an Occupational Therapist. This will be my 3rd year coaching at RC, and I am so excited to continue coaching at all age and skill levels. My goal is to create confident and passionate divers, all while having fun!

Hi! My name is Maya Kross and I’m an upcoming junior at Greenhills school. I’ve been a member of Racquet Clubs Dive Team since I was 10 years old and this is my first year coaching. I’m so excited to get to know all of the kids! My goal is to help them build confidence and reach their diving goals while having fun in the water!

Ayla Daigneau

Hello! My name is Ayla Daigneau and I am going to be a senior at Lincoln High School! I have been diving competitively through my schools for 6 years! I was the Lincoln Middle School dive coach last year and I am joining the Racquet Club team as an assistant dive coach. I love working with young kids and helping them improve! I enjoy running and baking in my free time. My goal is to make diving fun for the kids and keep them driving towards their goals!
